With a sizable increase in attendees over last year, one of the Grayson County Food Alliance’s most important fundraisers came to a close on Monday night at the Leitchfield Aquatic Center.
The Food Alliance’s Ducking Hunger Regatta boasted hundreds of sponsored ducks racing in three heats to determine the three ducks that would race in the aquatic center’s lazy river for a $1,000 prize.
The winners of the three heats were ducks sponsored by Chad Meredith, Barbara Allen and Andy Dyer. In the final race, Allen’s duck came away the winner by a wide margin over Meredith’s entry, making Allen the winner of $1,000.
Meredith and Dyer both won 2018 family passes to the aquatic center.
According to a clearly ecstatic Food Alliance Director Debbie Childress, the event raised approximately $6,900.
