Randy Joyce, local business owner and farmer, has announced his candidacy for the 2018 Republican 3rd District Magisterial race.

Joyce said he started working at Houchens Market in 1976 and was employed there for 14 years, the last of which he worked his way into management. Joyce said, “In 1990 I was given the opportunity to join Bro. Edward, Jerry and Roger Dermitt at the Dermitt Funeral Homes. In 2000 Roger and I became partners and purchased both the Leitchfield and Caneyville funeral homes.”

In 2012, his wife, Kate, and Joyce became sole owners of the Caneyville funeral home. He said he has recently become a Woodmen of the World Life and Annuity agent.

“We have a daughter, Taylor, who is a straight A student at Grayson County High School and proudly represents Kentucky as a member of the Kentucky Quarter Horse Youth Association,” Joyce said. “My son, Jared Tyler, is a Lieutenant at the Grayson County Detention Center and works in the IT Department. He also served in the National Guard. Jared’s fiancé, Rachel Armstrong, also works in Probation and Parole for Grayson County.”

Joyce said he has proudly served the people of Grayson County for more than 40 years and he wishes to continue to do so.

Joyce has lived in the 3rd District for more than 55 years, almost his entire life, he said, and “if elected, I would be honored to represent my district and be a voice for such great people,” he added.

Joyce was born in 1960 to Donnie and Juanita (Dupin) Joyce. His maternal grandparents were Rev. Earl and Irene Dupin; his paternal grandparents were Mitchell and Elsie (Mabe) Joyce.

Joyce said, “I thank you for the support I have already received and for all future support. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My office number is 270-879-3966 and my cell is 270-230-5245.”
