At Thursday night’s meeting, the Leitchfield Utilities Commission approved raises for 20 utility employees to bring the salaries in line with “current labor markets” and also giving considerations for seniority, according to Leitchfield Utilities Chairman Robert Crawford.

Crawford said the raises are equal to “adding one employee who makes $20 per hour” to the payroll (or an average of $1 per hour for each of the employees receiving raises).

Utilities Superintendent Dwight Embry said the Caterpillar compact track loader has been delivered. The equipment has several uses, including grading yards and clearing right of ways.
