On Tuesday night at approximately 9:20, Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, arrested a Caneyville man on three child pornography charges.

According to Kentucky State Police spokesman Jeff Gregory, authorities arrested 49 year-old Jeffrey D. Elmore, on charges related to promoting a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 16, and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Elmore was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Police began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploaded images of child sexual exploitation online.

Gregory said the investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Caneyville where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized, and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Elmore has been charged with promoting a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 16, and two counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. The promoting charge is a class B felony, punishable by 10 to 15 years in prison, while the possession count is a class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.

Elmore was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
