Kentucky State Senator Dan Seum is pushing for a bill that could help generate money for the budget deficit.
Seum, a Republican who represents Bullitt County and a section of Jefferson County, filed a bill on Wednesday that would legalize the use of marijuana for adults in Kentucky, according to media reports. He claims the legislation would create 15,000 new jobs and more than $100 million in revenue.
Seum says he’s confident the bill will pass, whether during the current session or next year. He’s also pushing for a bill that would allow certain types of sports betting in the state.
