The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to what was initially reported to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence in Dawson Springs Friday night at approximately 9:40.
When police arrived at the home, and after an investigation, authorities determined 25-year-old Lacey Greer shot her husband, Jonathan Greer, in the abdomen. He was transported to an out-of-state hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.
Multiple reports indicate alcohol consumption may have played a role in the shooting.
Lacey Greer was arrested and charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence) and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center where she remains on a $5,000 cash bond.
