Monday night at approximately 9:50, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 10000 block of Beaver Dam Road on the report of a single-car accident.

Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy DJ Newton found a Honda passenger car off the road and in a corn field.

According to Dep. Newton, the driver, 23-year-old Kimberly Chapman, of Caneyville, was traveling west on Beaver Dam Road when, driving around a curve, she encountered an eastbound vehicle and “jerked” her steering wheel, causing the Honda to partially leave the road. Chapman then corrected and re-entered the roadway before over-correcting and again leaving the road.

After exiting the roadway, Dep. Newton said the Honda struck an embankment head-on, causing the vehicle to spin and flip onto its top before coming to rest on its wheels.

Chapman was unhurt in the accident.
