An Elizabethtown woman, who left her three-year-old son alone on Sunday for several hours while she was at work, has been arrested.

Police said 29-year-old Blanca Cordon’s child was seen running around “in the street without supervision” and ended up at a church, according the News-Enterprise. When Cordon’s neighbor failed to reach her, the police were notified. Authorities found Cordon working at a local restaurant.

She left the boy alone at about 10:00 Sunday morning. Police became involved at about 7:50 Sunday night. Cordon said she came home between 2:00 and 4:00 to check on the child and bring him food, according to the newspaper.

The child was taken by Child Protective Services and placed in a foster home.

Cordon was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, a felony, and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
