FRANKFORT, Ky. (December 5, 2018) – Elizabethtown Representative Jim DuPlessis has been chosen by House Leadership to chair the Public Pension Oversight Board (PPOB) for his upcoming term in the Kentucky General Assembly.

The Public Pension Oversight Board assists the General Assembly with its review, analysis, and oversight of the administration, benefits, investments, funding, laws and administrative regulations, and legislation pertaining to the Kentucky Retirement Systems.

“I am honored to have been appointed to this critical position, and look forward to bringing a watchful eye to our Commonwealth’s pension systems,” said Rep. Jim DuPlessis. “State and county employees, educators, and taxpayers demand and deserve accountability and transparency from the retirement systems.  This is a tough assignment that I am excited to accept. I look forward to making an impact to these systems that were for too long mismanaged.”

Largely responsible for providing legislative oversight of the pension systems, the board was established under the provisions of Senate Bill 2 in 2013.

The General Assembly convenes for the 2019 session on January 8.
