The Ohio State Mansfield student abducted and killed by her ex-boyfriend in Oldham County on February 11 had filed numerous complaints with police about being abused.

Skylar Williams, 20, accused her ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old Ty’rell Pounds, of sexual assault, stalking, harassment, and domestic violence. The day Pounds killed Williams a 700-page police report detailing the tumultuous relationship between the former couple was delivered to the Richland County (OH) prosecutors office, according to the Mansfield Journal.

Williams and Pounds had a one-year-old son together and were a couple for about three years.

Pounds forced Williams into his car on the campus of Ohio State Mansfield on February 11 and drove her into Kentucky on Interstate-71. Kentucky State Police was alerted by a witness at a Gallatin County gas station that a distressed female appeared to be asking for help.

KSP spotted the Dodge Caravan the pair was traveling in and a pursuit ensued involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Pounds left the interstate at the Pee Wee Valley exit in Oldham County where Pounds crossed Hwy 329 while attempting to reenter the interstate. Due to public safety concerns, the primary KSP pursuit unit performed a PIT maneuver to prevent Pounds from reentering the highway, police said.

Trooper Joey Brown then approached the vehicle and shot and killed Pounds, who was wearing a bullet proof vest, but Pounds was able to shoot Williams before he died.

Williams was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
