A Leitchfield man has been arrested for his second DUI after driving down an embankment at the intersection of the William Thomason Byway and Brandenburg Road.

Sunday night a few minutes after 7:00, Leitchfield Police Officer Chase Melton, Missy Skaggs and Bart Glenn and the Leitchfield Fire Department responded to the single-vehicle accident. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that that a 2000 Jeep, being driven by 29-year-old McClane Ward III, had traveled straight at the intersection, driving down a steep embankment.

Officers determined that Ward, who was uninjured, was under the influence of alcohol. Police also located an open alcoholic beverage container inside the vehicle.

Ward was arrested and charged with his second DUI (aggravating circumstances) and having an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
