A toddler is recovering after accidentally shooting himself.
The two-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the foot Tuesday night while at a Danville apartment, according to WKYT.com. Police said the boy was being cared for by his grandfather while his parents were at work. Authorities said the firearm was not locked away.
The toddler was airlifted to Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington with what police said was non-life threatening injuries.
Police have not ruled out filing charges in the case.
