In honor of the passing of Magistrate Robby Higdon, Clarkson City Commissioners and Mayor Bonnie Henderson have declared Saturday a “Day of Mourning.”

Higdon, 43, passed away Sunday morning at his residence surrounded by family and friends after a long health battle.

The proclamation approved by Clarkson’s leadership reads as follows:

The Clarkson City Commissioners and the Mayor of the City of Clarkson, Kentucky do hereby proclaim as follows:

Whereas, the City of Clarkson and all of Grayson County’s first magisterial district lost a respected leader and dear friend with the passing of Magistrate Robby Higdon on Sunday, July 7, 2019; and,

Whereas, Robby Higdon dedicated his life to serving others and being a devoted husband and father, and leaves behind a loving wife, five children, and countless friends and relatives, and was loved and admired by all who knew him; and,

Whereas, while Robby never sought or expected recognition for his charitable donations, his generosity knew no boundaries, and he was always willing to help someone in need; and,

Whereas, Robby’s presence will be sorely missed by everyone in Clarkson and throughout the first district and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Now, Therefore, in recognition of his service to the community and in solemn recognition of the passing of Magistrate Robby Higdon, I, Bonnie Henderson, Mayor of Clarkson, declare the 13th day of July 2019 to be a “Day of Mourning” in the City of Clarkson, Kentucky.

Higdon’s funeral is Saturday at noon at Watson & Hunt Funeral Home.
