A van has driven through the side of Barrett’s Chevron at 918 Millerstown Road, just outside of Clarkson.

Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:00, the Clarkson Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident and found that a 2017 Dodge van, being driven by a 16-year-old girl, had drove through the side of the store.

Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith said the juvenile accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while parking the van. Meredith said the van jumped the sidewalk and crashed through the southern wall of the store, with the “majority of the van being inside the store.”

In addition to the wall suffering major damage, the store’s drink cooler was also heavily damaged.

The driver, her mother and six-year-old sister, who were in the van when the crash occurred, were uninjured. Likewise, no one is the store was hurt.
