A Cecilia man who went to the home of a five-year-old child to apologize for touching the boy’s genitals has been arrested.

Thursday night, 46-year-old Roy Thomas Skees, who was under investigation for having sexual contact with the child, was arrested by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office after he ignored warnings by deputies to not go to the home or near the boy.

Skees has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12) and criminal trespassing.

The suspect had previously denied touching child in a sexual way, but said he went to the child’s home to “apologize for doing it,” according to a report by The News-Enterprise. While being interrogated after his arrest, Skees admitted to touching the boy inappropriately.

He’s being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
