(Leitchfield, KY) – Fall temperatures are right on queue for the Annual Grayson County Extension Family Farm Fest this weekend.  Even though it’s Fall break for Grayson County students, there are still a few grand annual events on this next week’s agenda to jot down on your calendars.  We have now added all of the AA/NA meetings through-out Grayson County.

Thursday, Oct. 10th:

Grayson County Alliance Produce Distribution

There will be a produce only distribution at the Grayson County Fair Grounds on Thursday, Oct. 10th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for anyone who wants free fresh produce.  There is no documentation required.  Gates will open at 9:00 a.m.  Volunteers need to be there at 8:30 a.m.  This is a drive-thru service.

The Grayson County Alliance will have food distribution on Friday, Oct. 11th from 9:00 a.m. – Noon.  If you would like to know if you qualify for free food distribution please call Debbie Childress at (270) 259-4000.

The Grayson County Senior Center (Watkins Wood Drive in Leitchfield) will hold bingo on Monday at 9:45 a.m.

Leitchfield Unity Methodist Church Thrift Shop

The Leitchfield United Methodist Church Thrift Shop is open Fridays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m..

GC Extension Family Farm Fest

The Grayson County Extension Family Farm Fest will take place on Saturday, October 12th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the GC Extension Office campus at 125 Commerce Drive in Leitchfield.  There will be hotdogs, face & pumpkin painting, farm animals, game booths, and much more.

Cougar Sports

Grayson County vs. Graves County at Cougar Stadium at 7:00 p.m.  Locker Room Show with Sam Gormley begins at 6:30 p.m.  You can watch the game live on K105’s YouTube, Facebook, or website: k105.com.

The 5th Annual Think Pink Run will be on Monday, October 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the Centre On Main in Leitchfield.  the Think Pink 5K is ran each year for Breast Cancer Awareness.

2nd Annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Walk

The 2nd Annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Walk will take place at James D. Beville Park on Tuesday, October 15th at 5:45 p.m. for registration & raffle ticket sales, 6:15 p.m. for the walk, and 7:00 p.m. for the candlelight memorial.  The walk is free!

Al Anon Family Groups

Every Second Wednesday Senior Meal

St. Elizabeth Church at 306 Clifty Ave in Clarkson  hosts a senior dinner every second Wednesday of the month at 11 a.m.  Besides a good meal, there will also be entertainment, games, prizes and speakers.  All seniors are welcome.  For further information, call 270-784-1520.

Grayson County Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting

The Grayson County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting on the new location of Farm & Home Reality and Auction at 11:00 a.m.  There will be refreshments, prizes, and a tour of the new location (the former Anderson’s Lawn & Garden building) in Leitchfield (120 W. Market St.)

Prayer Team

A prayer team meets Wednesdays at noon at the GC Center for Women’s Ministries. All women are invited to attend the time of prayer & devotion.

Grief Share Support Group

Clarkson SBDM Council Special Called Meeting

Clarkson Elementary School SBDM Council will have a special-called session on Wednesday, October 16th at 3:15 pm.  The meeting is open to the public.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery meets every Wednesday at The Well, across from the Leitchfield United Methodist Church, at 5:30 p.m. for a light meal, 6:00 p.m. for worship, and 7:00 p.m. for small group meetings.  Celebrate Recovery is for every person to help you grow as a person spiritually, and overcome hurts, habits, or hang-ups.  Daycare if available.

Evergreen pass times:

The skate park, basketball courts, and the Taylor Fork Trail is always a free option, and while you’re in the area, the Grayson County Public Library is another free option for all ages to enjoy.

The new playground at James D. Beville Park is now opened.  There is a walking path at this park, and a picnic pavilion and restrooms.

The Ronald H. Hudson Fire Station playground and splash pads are free.  There is a walking path at this park, and a picnic pavilion and restrooms.

The Ed  Nichols Nature Trail in Clarkson is another free option.
