A Bowling Green man has been jailed after fleeing a wreck scene in Edmonson County and going to a nearby house and shaving.

Saturday at about noon, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicular accident in the 3800 block of Otter Gap Road, a few miles southwest of Chalybeate, according to media reports. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies learned the driver, 33-year-old Timothy R. Bridges, fled on foot and entered a nearby residence.

The home’s occupant, 45-year-old Jonathan Willoughby, was outside the residence when police arrived. After being given commands to come out of the home, Bridges emerged.

During a search of the home, police located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the clothing Bridges was wearing when he wrecked as well as facial hair in a sink where the suspect attempted to alter his appearance.

Bridges was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, his second offense), first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Willoughby was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were lodged in the Hart County Jail. Willoughby is no longer listed as an inmate.
