Amid sweeping business closures due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kentucky’s state parks remain open.
The 45 Kentucky State Parks, including Nolin Lake State Park and Rough River Dam State Resort Park, while open, have implemented precautionary measures due to COVID-19 social distancing mandates, including canceling or postponing scheduled park events through April 30.
Historic homes and museums remain open and operating on winter and spring schedules, with food services limited to carry out, the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet told the Associated Press.
The decision to remain open was made by cabinet officials in conjunction with the Department of Parks.
Officials recommend visitors check the Kentucky State Parks website about park services and hours before arriving.
