A Morgantown man has been arrested outside Caneyville after having a DUI crash.

Thursday night at approximately 8:50, Grayson County Deputy Andy Vincent and the Caneyville Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in the 3000 block of Morgantown Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, Vincent found that a southbound Ford F150 truck, being driven by Benjamin Garcia, 32, had left the wet roadway while coming out of a downhill curve. Based on marks at the scene, the truck struck an embankment, sending the vehicle into a spin where it partially reentered the roadway before again leaving the road and entering a ditch.

The truck traveled about 100 feet after initially leaving the road.

Upon making contact with Garcia, Vincent detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the suspect, as well as from the cab of the truck.

Garcia, who was unhurt, was given a field sobriety test and arrested. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with DUI. He is no longer listed as an inmate. His mugshot was not available.

Deputy Erik Franklin assisted at the scene.
