The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police are conducting a death investigation after a woman was killed in a house fire Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 8000 block of Hwy 192 (West Laurel Road), about 10 miles southwest of London, at approximately 9:15 yesterday morning and found that 36-year-old Flora Adams, of London, had perished in the fire, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Adams was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.
An adult male was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with serious injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
