The visiting Butler County Lady Bears sent nine batters to the plate in the second inning and scored five time on their way to an 11-1, run-rule victory over Grayson County in six innings on Friday.

Butler County pitcher Allie Hunt pitched a masterful game, allowing just a single run on seven hits. She walked no one and struck out six.

The Lady Bears jumped out on top with a run in the top of the first inning after two were out. Third-baseman Autumn Proctor beat out an infield hit, stole second base, moved to third on a wild pitch then scored when Hunt was later caught in a rundown between first and second.

Grayson County tied the score in the bottom of the first when leadoff hitter Annie Kiper parked an 0-2 pitch far over the wall in left-center for a home run.

Then came the five-run Butler County second inning, during which Proctor drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double to right.

Butler County made it 9-1 with three more runs in the third inning. They made it a 10-run game with two more in the sixth inning. Proctor and Hunt led off with back-to-back singles and moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt.

Grayson County shortstop Shelby Davis  caught the second out on a diving play behind second base, but first-baseman Audrey Clark drove in both runners with a single to left.

Cougar pitcher Audrey Killion singled with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but she died there as both Lauren Stevenson and Allie Dotson popped out to end the game.
