KSP Post 4 May Activity Report: Troopers make nearly 400 arrests, including 37 impaired drivers

Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown has released its May Activity Report.

According to KSP Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp, troopers and detectives:

  • Wrote 2,528 citations and arrested 37 impaired drivers.
  • Opened 44 criminal cases, made 394 arrests and served 72 criminal court documents.
  • Cited 618 speeders and issued citations to 249 motorists for failure to wear a seat belt, with 11 citations issued for failure to use a child restraint seat.
  • Investigated 54 motor vehicle accidents and assisted 142 stranded motorists.
  • Gave 108 courtesy notices for minor traffic offenses.
  • Conducted 83 school and business security checks and answered 884 citizen complaints.
  • Were involved in 515 special details and conducted 10 community programs.

Sharp reminds motorists that KSP Post 4 troopers will conduct Road Safety Checkpoints as well as Speed Checkpoints throughout the eight county Post 4 coverage area during June and throughout 2021.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 covers Hardin, Jefferson, Bullitt, Nelson, Meade, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Grayson counties.
