Brownsville man arrested after fleeing KSP on Hwy 259, gets third DUI

A Brownsville man accused of being under the influence of drugs is facing multiple felony charges after leading Kentucky State Police on a high-speed pursuit.

State police said that Thursday night at approximately 6:50, Trooper Jarrod Lewis observed a Chevrolet truck traveling at a high rate of speed on Hwy 259 north in Edmonson County. Lewis activated his lights and siren but the truck, being driven by 30-year-old Jared Sherrard, fled the trooper.

Sherrard fled onto Jock Road before stopping in the 2500 block.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, his third DUI (non-alcohol), fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, speeding 26 mph or more over the limit along with several other traffic violations.

Sherrard was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
