A Hartford felon has been jailed after firing a shotgun at a passing vehicle and residence.
Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said deputies recently responded to Mt. Vernon Road, about seven miles northeast of Hartford, on the report of a man firing a weapon at a moving vehicle and a neighboring home.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies made contact with the potential suspect, 55-year-old Allen K. Schroader, who deputies summoned from inside his residence, police said. Further investigation revealed Schroader fired a 20-gauge shotgun at a moving vehicle and at a neighboring residence.
Deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at Schroader’s home where they located the shotgun he is accused of firing.
Schroader was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
