Jerold “Jerry” David Griffith, age 78, of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 12, 2023) at his residence. He was born on September 4, 1945 in Shelbyville, KY, the son of the late
William Lee and Alma Ruth Rouse Griffith.
He was an Electrical Engineer for 40 years at Otis Elevator who enjoyed gardening, golfing and loved walking at Rough River State Park. He was a member of the Wingate Masonic Lodge #161 in Shelbyville, a retired member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, and a member of
Simpsonville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Griffith of Louisville, Dawn Peters of Shelbyville, Melisa Griffith (Cole) of Louisville, and Laura Redmon (Mike) of Lexington; and six grandchildren, Mason, Brandon, Amber, Mikey, Rhys, and Dawson; and one great-grandchild, Boston.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Jean; two brothers, James and Bill Griffith; and one sister, Joyce Cottrell.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, (September 23, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Ricky Armstrong will be officiating.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
