Thursday night at approximately 5:10, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5600 block of Elizabethtown Road (Hwy 62) on the report of a single-vehicle accident.

Upon Deputy Clay Boone arriving at the scene, he found that Rick Pence, of Big Clifty, was traveling east on Elizabethtown Road when he lost control of his Ford F150 truck on the rain-soaked roadway.

The Ford left the road between a guardrail and wire fence when the vehicle got sideways and flipped onto its top. The truck traveled about 150 feet after leaving the roadway, taking part of the fence down in the process.

Pence and his passenger, who were both unhurt, had to kick the windshield out of the truck in order to exit the vehicle.

Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith provided traffic control as the truck was loaded and towed from the scene.
