A Meade County woman was arrested in Elizabethtown on Monday night after police found methamphetamine in her car, along with her children.

Kentucky State Police responded to the scene on a child welfare investigation when Troopers witnessed 28-year-old Jeracho Walls, of Payneville, exiting the vehicle at a residence on Valley Creek Road, according to media reports. Her three children were in the back seat.

Authorities, who could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and a handgun inside the car.

Walls was arrested and transported to the Hardin County Detention Center where she’s been charged with trafficking in meth, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and being a persistent felony offender.

She’s being held on a $5,000 cash bond. Social services took possession of the three children.
