An inmate at the Grayson County Detention Center died at the facility on Wednesday night.

Although details of the inmate’s death are incomplete at this time, EMS was requested at the Shaw Station Road facility late Wednesday night. CPR was being performed on the inmate by detention center staff, and then by EMS personnel upon their arrival.

EMS then transported the inmate to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Apparently, the prisoner was a federal inmate as the U.S. Marshals service has been charged with notifying the family of the deceased inmate.

The Grayson County Coroner’s Office transported the body to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.

K105 will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
