A Bowling Green teenager has been charged with shooting and killing his stepfather.

Bowling Green police said the incident began Saturday night when a 17-year-old juvenile borrowed a gun from a friend and opened fire on his step-father, 26-year-old Homer Boling.  The teen told police he intended to shoot Boling in the legs, but that Boling approached him aggressively, resulting in the teenager opening fire.

During the shooting investigation, authorities found a message on the teen’s phone where he is discussing a plan to shoot Boling “well before the shooting occurred,” according to media reports.

The teen was arrested and charged with domestic violence murder and tampering with physical evidence.
