A Caneyville man has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound as police arrived to question him regarding an ongoing investigation.

Late Wednesday morning, Kentucky State Police arrived at an Ohio County residence to question Michael Woosley. Kentucky State Police Post 16 spokesman Corey King said police went to the residence on a “follow-up investigation.” King did not reveal the nature of the investigation.

As police arrived at the home, Woosley, who was standing outside the residence when KSP arrived, ran into the home and shot himself, according to a source familiar with the incident.

Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation.
