On Tuesday morning at approximately 10:30, Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the 105 mile marker of I-65 in Bullitt County.
Police said 31-year-old Richard Brown, of Greensburg, was traveling north on I-65 in a Chevrolet Trailblazer, while 64-year-old Richard Harrell, of Liberty, was also traveling north in a Dodge Ram truck.
Due to the wet conditions of the roadway, Brown lost control and struck the cable barrier ( designed to keep motorists from driving onto the opposite side of the highway), before spinning into the path of the Dodge, according to police.
Brown’s passenger, 62-year-old Rebecca Brown, of Campbellsville, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
