A man has been arrested following the discovery of a woman beaten to death at an Elizabethtown residence early Saturday morning.
Elizabethtown Police Department arrested Joseph Bryan Capstraw, 20, of Florida, and charged him with murder after the unidentified woman was found dead at a home in the 500 block of Joan Avenue.
Capstraw claimed he passed out after a verbal altercation with the female, and when he woke up he said he saw that the woman had been beaten. Capstraw had several injuries to both of his hands, according to a report by the News-Enterprise.
The arrest citation said Capstraw admitted to beating the woman to death, the newspaper reported.
Capstraw was charged with attempted murder related to a stabbing in May 2017 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, according to media reports. The charges were dropped later that month.
Capstraw is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
