The Daviess County Sheriff Office has made an arrest in the murder of an Owensboro man on July 7.

Police found the body of 30-year-old Casey Joe Embry the night of Saturday, July 7 at about 9:20 on the side of Griffith Station Road, just west of Willett Road, not far from Ben Hawes State Park. Embry had been shot in the back.

At the time, police considered 37-year-old Phillip Hobdy a person of interest in the case, but had been unable to locate him until Tuesday afternoon when Hobdy was found, arrested and charged with Embry’s murder, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Hobdy was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center where he’s also been charged with tampering with physical evidence.
