The search for a man reported missing Tuesday at Red River Gorge continues to intensify.

Search and rescue crews from seven counties, along with members of the National Guard, have joined in the effort to find 29-year-old Leslie Reynolds, after he called his family Tuesday night to say he was lost.

Crews from Estill, Fayette, Lee, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell, and Wolfe Counties are searching for Reynolds, according to media reports.

The Powell County Search & Rescue said the primary concern among crews is that Reynolds may be dehydrated. They are also concerned that Reynolds, who has a brain injury from a car accident, and suffers from schizophrenia, may not have taken his medication in 48 hours.

Search crews located Reynolds’ camping area, but did not find him. Officials have also pinged his cell phone, but said vegetation in the area was too dense, and rendered the effort fruitless.
