(Leitchfield, KY) – The radio station crew set out to enjoy the weather this past week in Grayson Co., as Mother Nature was hanging on to summer temperatures, which  made for a great opportunity to take advantage of our lakes we are nestled between.  That’s just what Mark and Christy decided to do this weekend, as they spent a Saturday afternoon with their girls on the lake.  As the seasons change so do the event opportunities at our state parks.  Here’s a link for Rough River Dam State Resort Park for you to view all the opportunities available this upcoming month.  Click Link

The Buckles crew enjoyed Rough River Lake over the weekend.

They took advantage of the Ronald Hudson Fire Station Firefighter’s Park this week, too.

Friday evening, Sam Gormley headed to Cougar Stadium to bring you the details of Cougar football game.  The Cougars stand 4 – 1 on the season after taking their first loss to South Warren High School; but they weren’t the only program Sam highlighted Friday evening.  Listen to the link below of Sam’s segment, “Cougars In The Classroom” with guest Ginger Crain about art projects at Clarkson Elementary School.

I got registered last Friday for Get Moving Grayson County, which began this past Monday.  This is the second year the GC Extension Office is hosting this two month event.  I attended a spin class (the first class of a new business in Leitchfield) Monday afternoon and racked-up almost 7,000 steps.

Jamie Bratcher, Wednesday Co-Host of Shop Local Leitchfield (103.9 The Moose), and I attended WOW (Women of Worth) Monday evening at Potter’s Hope Ministries in Leitchfield.  Guest speaker was a dear personal friend of mine: Sherri Wilson Minton.  Sherri was raw and honest about her life experience with worry, and shared how God helped her overcome that portion of her life, and how to prevent from passing negative traits on to her children.  WOW occurs monthly in Grayson Co. and features a woman in our community who shares a testimony of how her faith has helped her overcome a dark place in her life; it’s inspiring to hear these personal stories.  Every women is invited to attend, and the event moves from church to church as women from different churches are highlighted as the guest speaker.  If you would like to keep up with upcoming events please like the WOW Grayson County Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Women-of-Worth-Grayson-County-226730811130863/

Sherri Minton was the guest speaker for the WOW.
Jaime Bratcher and Misty Thomas attended WOW Monday evening.

There’s a lot of opportunities to participate in within the 511 square miles of Grayson Co., and if your non-profit group or organization has an event coming up, please email to me so I can help you promote that: communitycalendar@k105.com

Listen to Shop Local Leitchfield Wednesday morning on Leitchfield’s Country Station 103.9 The Moose at 8:00 a.m. as it’s Where Are We Going Wednesday; we will highlight all of the opportunities coming up in Grayson County for the next week.
