A Louisville mother has accidentally run over her young daughter in her driveway.
The 18-month-old child was struck in the 6100 block of Ashby Lane, in Valley Station, about 5:15 Tuesday afternoon. She later died at Norton Children’s Hospital.
The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit launched a death investigation into the circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death, but police are initially calling the incident a tragic accident.
The investigation has thus far shown that the toddler’s mother left her daughter and three-year-old sibling in their home when she said she went out to the driveway to move a car. As the mother was backing up she heard a scream. She immediately exited the car and found she had run over her daughter.
