An Elizabethtown woman has been killed in a two-car accident.

The Elizabethtown Police Department said 73-year-old Roge Smith, a passenger in an Oldsmobile Cutlass, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes in the 2600 block of Hwy 62, near Kentucky Drive, after the eastbound Cutlass, being driven by 63-year-old Darline Hisel, crossed into the path of a westbound Ford Mustang, being driven by 18-year-old Patrick Kiger, of Cecilia. The Mustang struck the passenger side of the Cutlass, where Smith was seated.

Hisel was attempting to cross four lanes of traffic to enter a gas station parking lot, according to the News-Enterprise.

Hisel was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kiger was not injured.
