William David Wooden, age 79, passed away on Saturday, (November 10, 2018) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

David was born September 29, 1939, in Sonora, Kentucky, the son of the late Herbert Lee Wooden and Mona Juanita McClure. He graduated from Clarkson High School and then from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky in 1961. He was a pharmacist and worked at Montgomery Drugs until he retired. He enjoyed home improvement projects, traveling, working in his yard, watching movies, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church and a former member of the Leitchfield Lions Club.

David is survived by his loving wife, Donna Dennison Wooden. Other survivors include two brothers, Leroy Wooden (Carol) and Glenn Wooden (Rhonda) both of Leitchfield; one sister, Patricia Dennis (Russell) of Clarkson; two brothers-in-law, Earl Ray Probus of Louisville and JW Dennison (Patsy) of Leitchfield; sisters-in-law Dorothy Armstrong, Anne Dennison, and Kathy Dennison, all of Leitchfield.

He is also survived by special nieces and nephews Kristin Pierce, Chancellor Dennison, Roger Pierce, Sanning Pierce, and Lena Pierce; and very special family friends David and Leslie Witty and their children, Lia, Caroline, and James Witty. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved children Diana Sue Wooden-Witty and William David Wooden II. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Herbert Rudolph Wooden and Thomas Russell Wooden.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, at 2:00 pm at the Dermitt Funeral Home with Elder David Witty officiating and Pat and Russell Dennis singing. Interment will be in Hanging Rock Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 12, and from 9:00 am Tuesday until the time of the service.
