A Louisville man has been arrested for threatening to burn down Trinity High School after Purdue head football coach Jeff Brohm opted not to take the vacant University of Louisville head coaching position.

Brohm, 47, attended Trinity and UofL and was later an assistant coach at UofL.

On Thursday afternoon, the St. Matthews Police Department and Louisville Metro Police arrested 29-year-old Thor H. Wiljanen, who issued a series of tweets Wednesday threatening to “burn down Trinity” if Brohm didn’t take the UofL job. The threats were issued via Wiljanen’s Twitter account, “Proud Clarion.” Trinity HS officials chose to not hold classes on Thursday.

Early Thursday morning, law enforcement was contacted by Wiljanen’s attorney, Ted Shouse, who requested a meeting. At that meeting, Wiljanen confessed to being the twitter user “Proud Clarion” and the author of the tweets.

Wiljanen’s attorney, Ted Shouse, told media members about the incident, “This was not a threat. This was an attempt at humor, an attempt at satire – a poor attempt – but it was meant unseriously and it is not a threat to the community or to the school.”

Wiljanen has been charged with second-degree terroristic threatening, a class D felony, and lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections.

Proud Clarion was the 1967 Kentucky Derby winner.
