For the first time since 2002, Leitchfield Utilities has raised sewer rates.
At Thursday night’s Leitchfield Utilities Commission meeting, commissioners unanimously agreed to raise sewer rates four-percent.
As a result of the rates being raised, the flat, or minimum rate will be $11.03, up from $10.61. The rate for the first 2,000 gallons used will now be $4.09 per 1,000 gallons, up from $3.93. The rate for over 2,000 gallons used is now $5.86 per 1,000 gallons, up from $5.63.
The rate hike will go into effect during the first billing cycle of 2019.
