A worker at the Glasgow Burger King has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A.

The Barren River District Health Department said it’s in the process of investigating the Hepatitis A case, which was diagnosed on December 12. Local public health officials have done an environmental inspection of the establishment, which resulted in no food code violations, according to the Barren River District Health Department.

All employees will be required to receive the Hepatitis A vaccine prior to returning to work, and the health department says at this time, risk to restaurant patrons becoming infected is considered low.

A Lexington hotel worker has also been diagnosed with Hepatitis A, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.

The health department says a food worker at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center on Newtown Pike was recently diagnosed with the liver disease. People who ate at the hotel and the Sports Page Bourbon Bar and Grill between November 26 and December 4 are at risk, according to officials.

The best ways to prevent the spread of Hepatitis A are to practice good hand washing and get the vaccine.
