Bullitt Co. man busted for distributing child porn online

A Bullitt County man has been arrested on 40 child porn charges.

On Thursday afternoon, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 31-year-old Jonathan D. Cole, of Shepherdsville, on charges relating to distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Cole was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, according to police. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect was distributing sexually explicit images online.

Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Cole is currently charged with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. Additional charges are expected.
