A Green River Correctional Complex inmate with over a dozen convictions since 2011 has escaped.
Muhlenberg County Central Dispatch says that 44-year-old Charles Pedigo escaped from the prison on Wednesday. Pedigo was released from prison in early November 2018, but had his parole revoked in January of this year, according to the Department of Corrections.
Between 2011 and 2018, Pedigo was convicted on a total of 14 charges in Allen, Hardin and Simpson Counties. His convictions include multiple counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine, assault of a parole or police officer, wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and fleeing or evading police, among other charges.
Pedigo stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 230 pounds. He has a short goatee and green eyes.
Authorities ask that citizens be cautious and aware of one’s surroundings, keep all doors and windows locked, do not pick up hitchhikers and report all suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Green River Correctional Complex is in Central City, about 52 miles southwest of Leitchfield.
