A Glasgow man has been arrested and charged with murder after posting on Facebook that he killed someone.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1700 block of Park City-Glasgow Road Friday night at approximately 9:00 on the report of a suicidal man, who posted on Facebook that he killed someone.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a deceased male, 32-year-old Christopher Walker, of Glasgow, inside a vehicle in the driveway. Sitting next to Walker was Pons’ wife, Melinda Pons, who was unconscious, according to police. Walker had been shot.

The man who wrote on Facebook that he had killed someone, David Pons, 48, of Glasgow, was inside the residence when deputies arrived but quickly exited the home and was taken into custody.

After being placed in a patrol car and waking up, Melinda Pons told police her husband told her he shot Walker because he threatened her. But she said that she never heard Walker issue any threats.

David Pons told deputies he shot Walker in self-defense.

Police said a female juvenile witness said the couple and Walker were drinking when the two men began to argue. The juvenile was told to leave the room, and she soon heard gunshots. The juvenile said she saw blood on Walker’s chest and that he was unable to speak.

During a search of the area, police located blood and a shell casing in the front yard of the residence. Melinda Pons told authorities that she and Walker were leaving the residence when Walker was shot.

David Pons was charged with murder and lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $750,000 bond. Melinda Pons was also arrested and charged with public intoxication.

The investigation continues.
