
A man was shot and killed Wednesday by Louisville Metro Police after he struck an officer with his vehicle.
The deadly incident began Wednesday morning at approximately 10:30 when officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Watterson Trail, near Dell Road in Jeffersontown, in connection to a robbery investigation.
Police said a LMPD officer, who was standing near the suspect’s vehicle, was hit by the suspect who then crashed into a Jeffersontown Police Department cruiser. An LMPD officer then fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle is tied to several business robberies in the Louisville area.
The officer who was hit by the vehicle is expected to fully recover.
