Kentucky State Police named an Edmonson County native Trooper of the Year.
Gov. Matt Bevin joined Justice Secretary John Tilley and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rick Sanders in recognizing 58 KSP troopers and officers for acts of bravery, life-saving, professionalism, and dedication to duty at a ceremony held in Lexington.
Winning KSP’s top cop award was Trooper Daniel Priddy, who works out of Kentucky State Police Post 3, in Bowling Green. Priddy, a 15-year KSP veteran, graduated from Edmonson County High School before attending Western Kentucky University. He began his career serving as a KSP Telecommunicator from 2004 until 2014, when he entered the KSP Academy.
“Trooper Priddy is a shining example of devoted service,” KSP Major John Clark said. “Tracing all the way back to the beginning, with his efforts as a dispatcher, stemming throughout his career, to where he is now with being an accident re-constructionist. I don’t recall a trooper at Post 3 ever being named as statewide Trooper of the Year. It is quite an accomplishment.”
Butler County native, Detective Josh Amos, was named KSP Post 3 Detective of the Year. Amos graduated from Butler County High School and has served with KSP for seven years, the last three years as detective. Prior to being promoted, Amos was a road trooper from 2012 until 2016, working out of Post 3.
