A Morgantown woman has been arrested after being found naked in a wooded area near Butler County High School.

On Friday morning, two people reported seeing a naked woman lying face down in a creek across from Butler County High School. When police arrived, officers were unable to locate the woman. A short time later though, Morgantown Police Chief Giles Taylor received a report of a nude woman in roughly the same area.

Upon arriving, police discovered 19-year-old Hannah E. Jones naked and disoriented in a wooded area near where officers initially conducted a search just off South Main Street (Hwy 231/79) No articles of clothing were found.

Taylor told the Beech Tree News that Jones appeared to be under the influence of an unidentified substance. He said that Jones told him she was on her way to Jumpin’ Jack Food Mart (about a half-mile from where Jones was found) when she became “hot,” evidently triggering her taking off her clothes.

Jones was treated at the scene by medical personnel before being arrested and charged with public intoxication. She was also served with an outstanding warrant.

Jones was lodged in the Butler County Detention Center.
