A Pike County teenager has been accidentally shot and killed by her sister.
The Pike County deputy coroner said 16-year-old Gabrielle May McCoy died Wednesday night after her 18-year-old sister accidentally shot her at their home. Police say McCoy was shot when her sister was handling and looking at the firearm.
McCoy, who would have been a senior at Phelps High School, was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
