Kelli Hall has been named the next head coach of the Grayson County Lady Cougar Volleyball program.
Hall will replace Rebecca Meredith who resigned earlier this year.
She was previously the head coach of the Lady Cougars from 2001-07 where she won over 120 games which included the 2004 Region Runner-Up. She stepped down following the 2007 season in order to devote time to her two sons; Corbin and Cameron.
Hall said that the team’s focus will be on “fundamentals, conditioning and being a team player.”
She added that, “sports are just avenues to learn the skills that are important for being successful people. I want the girls to know the value of being a team player and putting the good of others first.”
Prior to coming to Grayson County, she ran track and cross country at WKU for four years and served as a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at Western Michigan University for 2 years.
Last season, the Lady Cougar Volleyball team made their first regional tournament since 2011 with a win over Edmonson County in the district semifinals. Their season ended in the regional quarterfinals with a loss to Owensboro Catholic.
The team does plan to return 10 of their 14 players from last season’s group that won 20 games.
The Lady Cougars will open the 2019 regular season on August 19th at Owensboro High School.
