A Hardin County woman to have felony charges reduced if she removes a raccoon from her residence.

On June 21, 31-year-old Lacy Morehead, of Radcliff, was arrested after police found a raccoon running loose in her home with her three small children, ages eight, six and two-months-old. Morehead was located by police in her backyard, intoxicated and high on pills, something she admitted to police.

The raccoon, the News-Enterprise reports, was running around the house, biting at her two older children. No adults were present in the home.

She was originally charged with three counts of felony wanton endangerment and sentenced to one year in prison. During a court appearance earlier this month, though, the charge was amended to three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor, based on the stipulation that she remove the raccoon from her home.
